Location: Northwest Africa, exact location unknown. Found: 2010? Type: Ordinary chondrite, appears primitive. Description: This rock is identical in every way I can tell, from thin section and hand specimen, to NWA 5717. |

| Here is a preliminary assessment: “From these analyses, it is evident that the meteorite is an unequilibrated chondrite of petrologic type 3. It most closely resembles an ordinary chondrite, and based upon metal abundance would be classified as an L-type. However, fayalite content of olivine and large sulfide abundance is not consistent with an L classification, and I therefore would suggest that the meteorite is categorized as an ungrouped or anomalous UOC 3.0, S2, W1-W2.” More to come. |
